This year for the first time the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship / www.ufc.com) will arrive to Central Europe and present one of their very successful events UFC (99) THE COMEBACK  in Germany, Cologne.

The sport of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is in Europe still fairly unknown and faces all kinds of difficultie as for example people misunderstand it as brutal.
MMA has many technical aspects as it includes Boxing, Kickboxing and Grappling techniques (Standing and on the Ground).
Practitioners of this sport show tremendous respect for each other and everybody stepping in the Ring / Octagon deserves it.

Therefor we want to bring this sport closer to the people and we are not shy answering any questions regarding the practice, events and protection.

Most of the MMA Fans are somehow attached to this sport either by practicing it, enjoying their shows or coaching others that want to learn it and/or compete.

Since the practice of MMA is very physical (not physically abusive) it is more that enough to get the every day life, work and free time balance. We are not bad people. We love the sport. We care for each other and people around us. MMA teaches people many aspects of a combat but most important thing is it that it is not used to simply harm people.

Fairness is one of our main rules!

In the UFC there are many rules to protect the Fighters. There is a list of illegal actions like kicking the opponent to the groin, spitting, pulling hair or biting (etc..).

A fight can be won by couple of possibilities:
KO – A fighter gets Knocked Out either by Kick, Elbow strike or a Punch
TKO – Technical Knock Out is when a fighter is not able either to answer the attacks towards him or simply not able to continue fighting anymore (Injury, security reasons). The referee will step in and stop the fight. Sometimes fights are stopped by a doctor.
Submission – A submission win comes by putting other fighter into a hold (either a limb, joint or a head lock) where he has no possibilities to escape that position and has the possibility to tap out. If the fighter is in danger and doesn’t want to tap out mostly the referee will step in and stop the fight in order to protect him.
Decision – a decision win is a win by points scored by the ring side judges. In the UFC there are always 3 judges and they will score with the 10-9 Scoring system.
The better fighter will receive 10 points for a won round the other fighter 9 points. Points are given by scoring Punches and Kicks, Submission attempts, Octagon Control and activity.
